What is Senshi Con?

Senshi Con is an annual anime, gaming, and pop culture convention held in Anchorage, Alaska for fans of Japanese animation and video games.

What is an anime convention?

An anime convention is a gathering of fans who love “anime”,  or Japanese animation. Attendees are not limited to this fandom. Fans of American cartoons, video games, and other ‘geek culture’ also attend the con.

When is Senshi Con?

Senshi Con 2018 will be on Friday, September 21; Saturday, September 22; and Sunday, September 23.  That’s right, we are now a three-day convention!

What does Senshi mean?

Senshi means warrior, ninja, or fighter!

What does Con mean?

Con is short for convention.

What is there to do at Senshi Con?

You can shop in our vendor booths, attend or watch our Cosplay Cosplay Contest, meet the guest(s), play video games, watch anime, attend panels, and many other activities. Our schedule page is not up yet but will be later on when we are closer to the con.

Where is Senshi Con this year?

Senshi Con is at the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center located at 600 W 7th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99501.

What are the hours for Senshi Con?

The hours for Senshi Con 2018 are as follows:

Friday, September 21:  3pm – 11pm

Saturday, September 22: 11am – 1am

Sunday, September 23: 11am – 9pm

How much are the badges this year?

What is a 1 Day, 2 Day, 3 Day Badge?

The 1-Day, 2 Day, 3 Day Badges are only for the day of the convention; Example “If you have a 1 Day Friday Badge, you are only allowed in on Friday.” You will be able to go in the convention on all 3 floors.  You will not be able to go into the VIP Room, get in the convention early, guest autographs earlier than Fast Pass & VIP Badge Holders.

Where to pick up Badges?

If you bought online or at the store locations you can pick up your badges at the Dena’ina Center at 3 pm – 8 pm, Friday September 21st.  You can pick up any badge that you bought during the Early Bird & Pre-Registrations dates.  You can purchase badges at the door too.

What is a Gaming Badge?

The gaming pass is for the hardcore gamers and people that only want to see certain parts of the convention.  This is a great option for people who just want to play video games or attend Senshi Con’s video game tournaments and are not interested with the rest of the convention. Attendees pay a lower price because they are only allowed on the 1st floor of the Dena’ina Center. Gamer Badge Attendees are not allowed to go on the 2nd & 3rd floor.  Attendees do have the option to upgrade their pass, but only during the convention.

What is the Fast Pass?

The Fast Pass are for those that like to get in and out quick or get great seats.  However, this does not get attendees early entry into the con. Only VIP badges allow attendees early entry into the con.

The Fast Pass is for those that want to get into guest signing, panels, and other events first before general admission (1 – Day Badges, 2 – Day Badges, and 3 -Day Badges).  The Fast Pass will allow attendees entry before general admission but after VIP. There is only a limited amount of Fast Pass badges available. Once these badges are gone, they are gone.

What is a VIP Badge?

VIP will get in an hour earlier into the convention the regular Badge holders (1 Day, 2 Day, 3 Day, Fast Pass, and Gamer Pass). Meaning the VIP will get in at 2 pm on Friday, Sep 21st.  And on Sep 22nd & 23rd (Saturday & Sunday) VIP will get in at 10 am instead of 11 am.  VIP attendees have early priority entrance to all events. VIP attendees will also have lunch with the guests, receive a VIP gift bag, and access to the VIP lounge.

Can I buy a badge at the convention?

Yes, you can buy your badge at the convention.

Are there ID requirements/an age limit to enter the event?

ID is not required to get into Senshi Con. There is no age limit to enter the con. There is, however, scheduled events that are only for those 18 years and older where IDs will be necessary upon entering. So, if you have an Identification Card, Driver’s license, and/or Military ID you should bring it to certain 18 and over events.  We will have events for 21 years of age and up as well.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

The People Mover will be running all day if you need to know the schedule please click this LINK.  Parking is available on the streets is free during weekend hours. There are parking garages attached to the 5th Ave Mall (JC Pennies & Nordstrom), with the cost of parking dependent on the amount of hours you are in the garage.

Are there places to stay at Senshi Con?

Yes, there are several hotels within walking distance of the Dena’ina Center, and we will be announcing our hotel package for 2018 later this summer!

Do children get into the convention for free?

Yes, children under the age of 12 can attend the convention for free.

Can I bring my child?

Absolutely! This is an all ages event. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. There are ratings to certain events and events will be monitored by staff. The parent or guardian will not have to fill out a form for their child. But, the parent or guardian will have to fill out a name tag for the child.

Can I bring outside food into the convention center?

Outside food is not allowed in any venues.  This is a rule with the Dena’ina Center. There are many options downtown where people can eat. The mall, along with other nearby restaurants, will be notified about the large quantity of people that will be attending Senshi Con that weekend.

How much is a booth at Senshi Con?

A booth space at Senshi Con is $350.00

How much space will I get if I purchase a booth?

Your booth space is 10 feet x 10 feet.

I’m a specific vendor (artist, crafter, or vendor) artist how much would a booth cost?

Any artist, Crafter, vendor, and food vendor will have to pay $350.00 for a booth.

Is there another option for people to pay a cheaper booth?

Yes we have the Table Swap that only cost $40.00 for the one day on Friday from 3 pm to 11 pm.

What is the Table Swap?

Table Swap is for anyone that wants to sell anything they want to like toys, plushies,  cosplay items, dvd’s, wigs, props, art work, anime, comics, books, novels, jewelry, ect. They cannot sell food or drink items though.  This is a one day thing on the 3rd floor of the Dena’ina Center since the Exhibitor Hall will be closed for set up.

I’m not a artist or a vendor can i buy a table at the Table Swap?

Yes you and any vendor or artist can buy the table; this is for anyone that wants to sell or just get rid of anything.

Is my registration transferable? 

Yes, registration is transferable up until the refund deadline, after that date registration cannot be transferred. Please contact admissions with the updated information: Name to whom the registration is transferred to, email, and phone number. Email admissions at admissions@senshicon.org

Can I update my registration information?

Yes. After the registration is purchased, attendees need to notify admissions in order to make changes to the registration. This does not include an additional ticket. To contact admissions please email admissions@senshicon.org

What is a badge?

The Senshi Con Badge is what you will get once you bring your online registration or physical ticket to admissions. The Senshi Con Badge gets you into the convention.


What is Day Zero?

Day Zero is the traditionally the day before the convention where you can come to the Dena’ina Center and pick up your badge before Day 1. This year Day Zero will also have events in the afternoon and evening, and falls on Friday, September 21, 2018.

What time should I get to the event?

The doors will be open at 3 pm Friday, Sep 21st. The doors will be opened at 11 AM on Saturday, Sep 22nd and Sunday, Sep 23rd.  It’s better to arrive to the event 2-3 hours before because there will be a line.

Will the line take as long as before?

Yes, it will.  Please expect a wait.  If someone is in need of extra attention to get in (handicapped/age), notify staff day of attendance.  Each year, Senshi Con expects an extra 500 people to attend the event.  At last year’s convention there were over 7,000 attendees.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds cannot be made with Early Bird Registration. Admissions needs to be notified before September 16th to issue refund. After said date, there will be no refunds for pre-registration or registration. There will be no refunds issued to those buying the weekend of the convention.

Will I be signing a waiver before entry?

Registering online and purchasing a physical ticket at the store is agreeing to our code of conduct and weapons policy. There will be no waivers to sign for anyone.
