What is Senshi Con?

Senshi Con is an annual anime convention held in Anchorage, Alaska for fans of Japanese animation and video games.

What is an anime convention?

An anime convention is a gathering of fans who love “anime”, Japanese animations. Attendees are not limited to this fandom. Fans of American cartoons, video games, and other geek culture also attend the con.

When is Senshi Con?

Senshi Con is on September 30th, Saturday and October 1st Sunday. 

What does Senshi mean?

Senshi means warrior, ninja, or fighter!

What does Con mean?

Con is short for convention.

What is there to do at Senshi Con?

You can shop in our vendor booths, attend or watch our Cosplay Cosplay Contest, meet the guest, playing video games, watch anime, and go to some gatherings. Our schedule page is not up yet but will be later on.

Where is Senshi Con this year?

Senshi Con is at the Dea’ina Civic and Convention Center located at 600 W 7th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99501.

*Gaming Passes are only allowed on the 1st floor of the Dean’ina Center, seeing only the Exhibitor Hall and Gaming Area. Gaming passes cannot go upstairs to the 2nd and 3rd floor.

When do tickets end?

Passes bought at the store end on September 17th, Saturday. Online passes end on September 24th, Saturday

What is a Gaming Pass?

The gaming pass is for the hardcore gamers and people that only want to see the certain parts of the convention.  Also there are people that just want to play or attend just our video game tournaments and not look at the whole convention. They pay a lesser price because they are only allowed on the 1st floor of the Dean’ina Center. They are not allowed to go on the 2nd & 3rd floor. They can upgrade they’re pass only on day of the convention.

What is the Fast Pass?

The Fast Pass is the newest pass we’ve ever had and it’s a good one for those that like to get in and out quick or get better seats. It is for 2 days (Sep 30th & Oct 1st) into the convention. This pass does not get into the convention first only the VIP get in first.

So the Fast Pass is for those that get into guest signing, panels, and other events in first before the general admission (1 – Day Pass & 2 – Day Pass).  The Fast Pass will only be in front of general admission and behind VIP. There is only a limited amount

Where can I buy tickets pass?

You can buy your tickets online by April 14th till September 17th 2017.

Later you can buy physical tickets them at the store.

Can I buy a ticket / badge at the convention?

Yes you can buy your badge at the convention.

Are there ID requirements/an age limit to enter the event?

ID are not required to get into Senshi Con. There is no age limit to enter the event. There is, however, over 18 scheduled events where IDs will be necessary upon entering. So if you have a Identification Card, Drivers license and Military ID you should bring it to certain 18 and over events.  We will have events for 21 and up too. 

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

The People Mover will be running all day.  Parking is available on the streets is free during weekend hours. There are parking garages attached to the 5th Ave Mall (JC Pennies & Nordstrom) cost depending the amount of hours. There will be not parking validation at the event.

Are there places to stay at Senshi Con?

We are still in the works of a hotel stay. Last year we had the Hilton Hotel so stay tuned!

What age does my child need to get in the event for free?

Children under the age of 12 years old are free.

Can I bring my child?

Absolutely! This is an all ages event. They must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. There are ratings to certain events and will be monitored by staff.

Can I bring outside food into the convention center?

Outside food is not allowed in any venues.  This is a rule with Dena’ina Center. There are many options downtown where people can eat. The mall and along with other restaurants will be notified of the large quantity of people that weekend.

Is my ticket transferable? 

Yes, tickets are transferable up until the refund deadline 9/17/2017 @ 11:59 pm. Please contact admissions with the updated information: Name to whom the ticket is transferred to, email, and phone number. Email admissions at admissions@senshicon.org

Can I update my ticket registration information?

Yes. After the pass is purchased, attendees need to notify admissions in order to make changes to ticket. This does not include an additional ticket. To contact admissions please email admissions@senshicon.org

Where are my tickets?

If you purchase your tickets online, you will receive 1 email from noreply@jotform.comThis email is your pass to get your badge for Senshi Con. If you have not received the email at all please check your junk/spam folder. You do not need to bring the Paypal Receipt. If you are having problems please email admissions at admissions@senshicon.org. You can pick up your badge on September 30th, Day Zero at the Dea’ina Center.

Do I have to bring my printed pass to the event?

Yes, if you bought your ticket online you must bring your ticket registration that was sent to your email. It should say “Senshi Con 2017 Ticket Registration.” Bringing the Paypal does not get your badge because that is just the payment confirmation from the purchaser.  If you bought your membership pass from a store you must bring that to get your badge. 

What is a badge?

The Senshi Con Badge is what you will get once you bring your ticket online or physical ticket. The Senshi Con Badge gets you into the convention.

What is Day Zero?

Day Zero is the day before the convention where you can come to the Dena’ina Center and pick up your badge before the first day of the convention. Day Zero falls on Friday, September 29, 2017.

What time should I get to the event?

The doors will be opened at 11 AM. It’s better to arrive to the event 2-3 hours before. 

Will the line take as long as before?

Yes it will.  Please expect a wait.  If someone is in need of extra attention to get in (handicapped/age), notify staff day of.  Each year, Senshi Con expects an extra 500 people to the event.  And last year’s event had over 4,000 members. 

What is the refund policy?

Admissions needs to be notified before August 31st to issue refund. After said date, there will be no refunds for registration. There will be no refunds issued to those buying the weekend of the convention. This goes for pre-registration as well.

Will I be signing a waiver before entry?

Purchasing a ticket  is agreeing to our code of conduct. There will be no waivers to sign for anyone.
