UAA Anime Club: What do you want for the future?

Postby Fullmetal Mario » Tue May 04, 2010 9:19 pm

So, as I mentioned on at our last meeting I am putting up a thread here to begin discussing what you as the club members would like to see happen at future meetings.
I cannot say for certain if I myself will be President next semester, but regardless this information will be able to help whoever does take up the seat after me.

So, let's have at it! Any ideas will be taken into consideration, because really the club is there for people to enjoy, but if it's NOT enjoyable then what's the point???

Less moemoe anime would be nice. Very nice.
Some of it is alright, but two showings of a show about cute girls doing cute things = no.

Also don't forget posters and crap advertising the club. Didn't see any of those at the con, and that woulda been a great opportunity to get some new people in.

I like the funny movies, maybe get some more anime-related ones. Like AMVs. I personally enjoy those a lot. And the games that can play 4 people. I mean, it's fun playing two people games but I've never quite enjoyed them. Maybe because most are fighting and I'm terrible at those. I remember at one of the parties there was a bomber game. Maybe to big to actually bring in but would be fun.

And I'm trying to think of something else. Like maybe some boards games every once and awhile. Bring in apples-to-apples with monopoly to play for half a hour maybe.

Parties are always a hit. I know they're hard to do without a holiday coming up but maybe when a new video game that is long-awaited is about to be released or something we can have a celebration party with cosplays.

More work shops. I'd be willing to host a few half hour ones on cosplay, drawing, and anime in general. Something the audience can interact with. Sitting around for 2 hours is boring. Shake it up once in a while. That's why I stopped going for the most part was because the meetings progressively got more and more boring.

I like it. But if we did do something like that, I think we should take special care to make sure they're blending together. Having drawing and cosplay together and then maybe a video game. Because sme people are completely uninterested in drawing or cosplay because they simply don't do it. Whereas others might be uninterested in video games because they're not really a gamer.
