Wikipedia SenshiCon page needs resources!

Postby Nik » Sun Sep 14, 2008 1:31 pm

EDIT: The Senshi-Con Wikipedia page is online!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senshi-Con

=================================

Before adding more information, I am waiting for the main SenshiCon site to come online, so that I could use it as reference.

However, I would greatly appreciate if you help me with the following items:

1. A SenshiCon logo image, does not matter what size or format, preferably good quality. DONE

2. A photo of the convention in progress, preferably 2008, does not really matter.

3. A drawing of the mascots (one image with all three or three separate images). DONE

4. The word "senshi" spelled in kanji, so that I could copy and paste it. It means warrior, right? DONE

5. History of the convention, with dates and attendance. I don't remember if it was on the main website or not.

Thank you very much!

EDIT: Oh! Here is my email address, should you need it, disguised from mean spiders:

About copyright status, images created by me are copyrighted to me. Similar to how videogame/ anime official art is handled. However, you can post my artwork but it has to be credited to me, Phillip Matias. Two "L"s, not one. :D

Here's a link to the logo images.

Here's a pic of the mascots that you can upload.

A history of the convention was on the main website but it did not give details of attendance.

Thank you, Phillip!

The Wikipedia Senshi-Con is now online, here is the link again:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senshi-Con

The reason for the "under construction" tag is because it looks better than the "no references" tag. I will improve it ASAP.

Your images are there too. Here is the logo, cropped and resized, with a non-free use rationale, and copyright tags as a "logo" and a "2d art":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Sens ... esized.jpg

And here are the mascots, with another non-free use rationale, and a "2d art" copyright tag:

Phillip: if I mishandled your works in any way, copyright-wise, let me know.

Everyone else: feel free to edit the page as you see fit, of course! If the Wikipedia is not your best friend in terms of editing, you can tell me your idea, suggestion, criticism, etc. and I will edit it.

If you would like to upload an image and are not a registered Wikipedia user, it would probably be easier if you let me or another registered "autoconfirmed" user do it.

Now I would like a nice picture of the Senshi-Con, or an event at the Senshi-Con, to make the article prettier. Oh, and of course, I'll have to put up references!

*bump/doublepost*

we can haz references yays.

Seriously, the page now has 8 sources (three of them from the main website, two from animecons.com, two are articles from The Northern Light - those are the best sources, and a snippet from Green & Gold Daily). Would be sweet if ADN wrote an article about the con - that would be a very good source.
I also updated the link to main website - it's www.senshi-con.org , not www.senshicon.org (only the main page is on the 'hyphen' domain, the rest of the website is on senshicon.org). I guess we own both domains! We should sell one or something.

Forgot to ask at the meeting for a picture of a Senshi-Con to use, preferably one I could release into public domain. There are a couple on the main site, but I don't think they are the greatest.

EDIT: I don't really see why we still need this thread. We have an article, and it's alright.
If someone is so inclined, you may kill this thread.

What percent of Yahoo! Answers questions could be resolved by a quick Google or Wikipedia search? Just curious. Seems like its less work to look on Google or Wikipedia for the answers to many of these than it is to type in a Yahoo! Answers question.
