Rules

 

Player Eligibility

All players participating in the tournament must enter their Overwatch (Americas) BattleTag for signups.

Teams

Only registered team members are allowed to play for a team. Playing in any matches with someone who is not registered can result in a penalty. Players and teams must compete under their officially registered Overwatch team names and Nicknames during all official matches.

Roster

Team rosters must consist of at 6 players to compete. Teams are only allowed to play with players on their roster with a registered account. All roster changes must be made prior to the start of a match. Playing with different players can result in a penalty.

Game version

All players must install the newest version of the game in order to participate in the tournament. Updates must be installed before the tournament starts, so delays will be at a minimum.

Technical Issues

Matches might be delayed because of technical issues.

Disqualification

To keep the tournament going as efficient as possible, Admins have the right to disqualify teams. In some scenarios both teams may be affected. Any team found to be using a known exploit will forfeit their game upon the first occurrence of the exploit. If the team is found to use another known exploit for a second time and it is determined to have been done on purpose they will be removed from the event and barred from any future events.

Match Settings

Custom Game Settings:

  • Game mode:
    • Start of the tournament – Best of 3
    • Finals – Best of 5
    • Finals: Best of Five
  • The higher seeded team starts the map veto (explained here)
    • Available maps: all
  • Hero selection limit: 1 per team
    • all heroes are currently allowed

General Rules:

  • In case of a draw on Assault or Hybrid, a preset Best of One Control map is to be played. The winner of the Control map will win the draw.

Maps

  • Disable all maps except for the map that is to be played.

Hero Options

  • Hero selection limit: 1 per team
  • all heroes are currently allowed
    • Role selection limit: None
    • Allow Hero Switching: On
    • Respawn as random hero: Off

Heroes

  • All heroes are to be set as “on”.

Game preparations

Please resolve any problems that might occur before a match starts. Connection or hardware problems during a match could lead to a disqualification by admins. The match must be played with the right settings. Make sure all players are eligible to play. In team games, all players must be registered for their corresponding team.

Substitute Players

Substitutes cannot begin playing on a map that has already begun. Keep in mind that the substitute must have been on the team roster before the match started.

No show

If a participant is not ready to play 15 minutes after both participants have been matched on the bracket, please notify the Admins this is the fastest way to get your match checked to move on to the next round.

Disconnects

In the case that a player(s) disconnects, the team is allowed to pause the match until reconnected; if player is unable to connect in 5mins the match will be forfeited.

Forfeit

Participants can choose to forfeit a match if they wish. Forfeiting will result in loss of the match and possible penalty points.

 Re-host

A rehost can only be played with prior admin approval. Please contact an admin to receive approval. In a re-hosted game each participant must choose the same side as they picked at the start of the original match. Disconnects and lag issues will only qualify for a re-host if the issue occurs the within the first 60 seconds of the game.

Observers

Observers are only for casters and Admins.

Results

Both participants are responsible to enter the correct result. Results must be submitted after all games have been played. If anything is unclear, participants should contact an Admin member
